Today I'm thankful for:
1. My awesome family. I love spending time with them, playing games with them, talking to them, etc.
2. Thanksgiving dinner leftovers. There's nothing quite like a turkey sandwich on a roll with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and fruit salad on the side. And to top it all off, left-over pie!
3. Lazy afternoons where absolutely nothing that has to be done.
4. Warm slippers.
5. Sunshine!
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Blizzard Warning!
Today I'm grateful for weather men/women. I'm grateful for warm sweaters/hats/scarfs/coats. I'm grateful for electric blankets, and the gas furnace. I'm grateful for hot chocolate and apple cider. I'm grateful that my husband's class was canceled tonight so I don't have to worry about him driving home in the blizzard. I'm so grateful for family and friends and the chance to spend time together this weekend while we eat way too much. :D

Small Classes
Today I'm grateful that my class only has 13 students and that 11 of their parents came to parent-teacher conference tonight! I'm grateful for my new friends on FF who know exactly how I feel and obsess with me. I'm grateful that I thought ahead and did NOT take the freeway home. I'm grateful for good books to read, and that my life is NOWHERE near as exciting as those books! I'm grateful for my wonderful, amazing, awesome, thoughtful husband who drove a little bit out of his way to bring me some entertainment while I was waiting for those 11 parents to come talk to me. :D My life really is one big blessing right now, and has been since I met Mel.

4. I'm grateful that my mom taught me piano, even though I still hate to practice!
5. I'm grateful for modern medicine, and that we don't have to worry about so many illnesses any more.

Gratitude
I've really been thinking about gratitude (which many people do this time of year), partly because of the relief society lesson yesterday, but also because everything is so wonderful right now. Mel and I are still blissfully happy (I think we're going to be newlyweds for a long time!) and I can't believe how big the turnaround was when I married him! I think about the 5 years before I met Mel, and the last 2 years and I can't even compare them because they are polar opposites! So, anyway, I'm going to try and express my gratitude here over the next little while and we'll see how it goes.
Today I am grateful for:
1. The opportunity to go to school (without having to drive to Logan!)
2. My students and how they always complain when they have to leave my class (it makes me feel so good!!!)
3. My wonderful, amazing, awesome, loving, understanding husband.
4. My wonderful, amazing, awesome, loving, understanding parents, and my Mom especially who cooks breakfast every day and dinner 4 days a week.
5. My car. I am so glad that I never had a car payment, and that it is still in such good shape.
