"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Small Classes
Today I'm grateful that my class only has 13 students and that 11 of their parents came to parent-teacher conference tonight! I'm grateful for my new friends on FF who know exactly how I feel and obsess with me. I'm grateful that I thought ahead and did NOT take the freeway home. I'm grateful for good books to read, and that my life is NOWHERE near as exciting as those books! I'm grateful for my wonderful, amazing, awesome, thoughtful husband who drove a little bit out of his way to bring me some entertainment while I was waiting for those 11 parents to come talk to me. :D My life really is one big blessing right now, and has been since I met Mel.
