"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Blizzard Warning!

Today I'm grateful for weather men/women. I'm grateful for warm sweaters/hats/scarfs/coats. I'm grateful for electric blankets, and the gas furnace. I'm grateful for hot chocolate and apple cider. I'm grateful that my husband's class was canceled tonight so I don't have to worry about him driving home in the blizzard. I'm so grateful for family and friends and the chance to spend time together this weekend while we eat way too much. :D

  1. We get it, you're grateful. I'll be grateful when you're done being grateful and post something interesting. (my joking tone probably didn't come over very well)

  2. Wow. A blizzard. So weird. We can still get away with short sleeves. I think three years being away from Utah has made me a winter wimp. :)
